Understanding and Managing Children with ADHD from a Sensory Perspective | |
---|---|
Course Code: | CA-18B-11 |
Description: | Children with ADHD frequently have comorbid learning and sensory-motor related challenges. Problems in sensory processing, praxis and postural control can exacerbate and contribute to attention issues in these children. Professionals working with children with ADHD should be aware of the relationship of sensory processing and motor challenges to attention difficulties as well as related executive functioning skills. This presentation will help participants understand the needs of these children from a sensory processing perspective and will provide an overview of interventions for them. Video review and case studies will be used to illustrate key points along with group discussion and activities. |
